The Arab Coalition spokesperson Colonel Turki Al-Maliki announced that at 12:46 minutes of the noon of this day, the Coalition air defense forces monitored launching of a ballistic missile by Iranian-backed Houthi militias from inside Yemeni territories (North of Imran) towards the territories of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to SPA.
Col. Al-Maliki stated that the missile was directed towards Najran city in a deliberate launching by the militias to target civilian and populated areas, but the coalition air defense forces successfully intercepted it, resulting in scattering of missile’s fragments over residential areas, while no injuries or damages were reported up to preparing the statement.
Such a hostile act committed by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias has proved that continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the Houthi armed militias with qualitative capabilities, according to Colonel Al-Maliki.
This is a clear act of defiance of the UN resolutions 2216 and 2231, respectively, in order to threaten the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian as well as the regional and international security, the spokesperson added.
The launching of ballistic missiles at populated towns and villages, is contrary to international humanitarian law, Col. Al-Maliki concluded.
